People with a disability are encouraged to participate in an apprenticeship or traineeship.
Support and advice
General support
If you're interested in taking up an apprenticeship or traineeship, there is a variety of support available to assist you, including:

assessment of your learning support or equipment requirements

adaptive equipment and training in its use (e.g. adaptive software, keyboards, magnifiers)

personal support services (e.g. AUSLAN interpreters, specialist support workers, note takers/scribes).
SkillsTech Australia
SkillsTech Australia is a TAFE institute and has a disability support officer available to provide support and advice on disability issues to its students.
Job Access
This service can assist people with a disability who are looking for work, including preparing to look for work and how to look for it.
Disability Employment Network
This network can help you get ready to look for a job and find a job or training opportunity.
Support - financial and mentoring
Information on gaining assistance from an interpreter, mentor or tutor.
Mobility Allowance
Assists you to pay for transport costs if you are unable to take public transport without substantial assistance.
AUSLAN for employment program
Provides help for new employees who are deaf or hearing-impaired and starting in a new job.
HELP Enterprises
A non-profit organisation assisting with job preparation and training to help build your participation in the workforce.
